Cécile can also help bilingual children develop specific skills which may have been missed out due to the dominance of one language over the other.
Bilinguals at secondary school level, although seemingly advantaged in oral communication, still have to acquire specific topic vocabulary, good writing skills and effective translation strategies if they are aiming for high grades in early GCSE or A-Level entries. In particular, they often need extra support to polish spelling and grammar accuracy in order to achieve a level at writing that matches their verbal communication ability.
Support with French literacy skills, including learning how to read and write, is also available to primary school children receiving bilingual education at home or at school.
